Is Nutrisystem The Best Diet Plan For Your Lifestyle?

About Nutrisystem

Nutrisystem is the diet plan claiming amazing results, even allowing you to eat out and apparently educating you about filling foods. They have recently made the switch to promote their prepackaged meals rather than a self made diet plan for the simple reason that it is more profitable. But they claim you get 28 days of food with your first order and it was apparently used by Marie Osmond. Her appearance on Dancing With The Stars had nothing to do with it.

How Does Nutrisystem Work?

Nutrisystem provides you with filling meals that help you to control hunger and follow a delicious and easy meal plan. The problem we see is that just like many others, they provide you with foods you couldn’t eat very often all the time, and they basically teach you not to eat healthy foods, but to trick yourself in a way. They provide foods like Shrimp Alfredo and Toasted Ham and Cheese with ice cream that are healthy when they make it, but not really when you make it, making it difficult if not impossible for users to really maintain results after.

They do have multiple plans for men, women, those with diabetes, vegetarians, etc. But again, they do not actually teach you anything about future dieting or how to maintain. They have also found in studies that Nutrisystem is one of the least effective in initial weight loss as well.

“My experience with Nutrisystem was TERRIBLE. The food taste awful, it is full of sugar alcohols, which are terrible on the digestive system and then when you want to send the food back, even with a 14 day trial offer, they charge you an $18.95 cancellation fee and it cost over $100 to ship their box back to them, even if you use standard ground shipping. Don\\\'t get suckered in like I did, eat your fruits and veggies and stay away from Nutrisystem!!”

“This was the easiest weight loss program that I have ever tried, as long as you give it an honest effort. I lost 8 pounds the first week and was hooked. I found the food flavorfull and filling. Some say the portions are small, but I say the entree portions are the correct size, especially when you add in your vegetables. I was on the program for 8 months and lost 120 pounds. Was it easy Yes, once you realize that over eating is what got you over weight in the fisrt place. My wife also did it and went from a size 12 relaxed fit to a size 4. All I can say is thank you Nutrisystem from the bottom of my heart.”

“What a waste of money and time. They bait-and-switch with fine print that took me 25 minutes to find after they told me where to find it. If you think you\'re getting a discount and don\'t like what you get, you get to pay MORE for it. What a scam. On top of that, you end up supplementing every meal with more food so in total my grocery bill went up while on a diet. This is the worst plan ever!”

“I want to start out by saying that I have tried everything and even had a small success on the one where you \\\"count points\\\"...the Nutrisystem diet though, seems to be the one that I think I can live with as it is already teaching me tools for success. Growing up with an overweight mother, I was never taught portion control and now I am realizing that even though I already eat a very healthy and well-balanced diet, I was eating too much of it. I am only in my first week but the food is good (as diet food goes) and some is actually very tasty. The fruit and vegetables that you add in make it a very filling meal. I go through small hunger pangs because (I am overweight for a reason) I am used to eating too much. I already feel like I am learing how much my body really needs and it is much less than I thought. I am not irritable from hunger and the meals are either already prepared or very easy to make. If you are really serious and are willing to be really honest with yourself, this could really be the plan for you. Just remember...it is a diet so if you are expecting the taste of gourmet foods then you are probably not ready to lose weight yet.”

“I just want to say how grateful that I have made the best decision of my life.... I have never struggled with my weight until I reached my 30s it is nearly impossible, I had lost sight of myself and my portions, I have had so many people trying to discourage me to go on this program, but I can tell you honestly that this program has showed me the the true key of losing weight and what real eating should be... I will never eat the way I used to to get me where I am today... so far I have lost 8lbs on my first week!! I do love this program a lot!!”

“Nutrisystem was a complete failure for me! I am going back to Weight Watchers. Luckily, my best friend, who is in the National Guard needs to lose about 20 lbs. and has agreed to take over my 2nd month of food, so I am not out any more money. She also will probably be able to stick with the food since she spent a year in Afghanistan and has no problem eating MREs from the military. I went on many diet review sites that helped me decide to give Nutrisystem a try. Any negatives in their reviews were about the size of the portions. I had no problem with the size of them, but the taste and texture made the food nearly inedible! And, I am NOT that picky of a eater. Additionally, I purchased foods that were rated HIGH on the reviews on the Nutrisystem itself, so I can\'t imagine what the foods are like that are rated low! The grilled chicken â”

Product: Silver Package-Nutrisystem

“Nutrisystem customer service is horrible! Yes the reps are friendly but several of them do not know how the packages work and because of this two out of three of my orders were incorrect. That\'s not the worst part. Their only solution was to move up my NEXT order (which would also move up the pay date) and send me a week of ready to go items (not the frozen which was what they messed up lol). Because of how high costly Nutrisystem is I had to budget everything to the \"t\" so having the order/pay date moved up was not an option. Also I was stuck with food items I don\'t eat (or didn\'t like from the first tasting). Talk about bad customer service. Now you\'re probably thinking why didn\'t they just send me the frozen food I actually ordered? Ding! That would have been too much like right. Kind of like sitting down at a restaurant, order your meal, get the wrong meal, and they take it back and bring you what you ordered and might even take a little off your bill. Too much like right I guess and thatâ”
